It was slow starter and I was worried that the hype may have misled me...But I soon became intrigued by this glamorous, addictive and surprisingly emotional story about old Hollywood. 4/5 stars ****
It's far more than a story about old Hollywood though...
Evelyn is a fascinating and compelling character. The truth behind her seven marriages unfolds with each chapter and the story explores love, ambition, identity, sacrifice and the price of fame.
It turned out to be a bit of a page turner with an interesting reveal at the end. A compelling read with plenty of heart.
