Closed Circuit is an engaging page-turner that twists and turns throughout, while at the same time twisting the knife into the murky operations of the English establishment.
Haggard creates a world of intrigue, secrecy and shifting loyalties where it is never entirely clear who can be trusted. Written more than sixty years ago, it has an atmosphere that is unmistakably of its time, yet its portrayal of power, influence and what goes on behind closed doors still feels surprisingly relevant. A thoroughly enjoyable Penguin Crime novel.
